All YESS participants are required to live on campus for the entire duration of the program. Participants live in Braun House, a dormitory located within close proximity to dining facilities. The House has its own laundry room (coin operated) in the basement area, high-speed Internet and an air-conditioned lounge that has a television with cable service.
The House is organized into two single-gender floors. Students live in double rooms, and roommates are assigned based on students' responses to a housing questionnaire. Residential Counselors live with the students and will supervise and assist participants throughout the duration of the program. The counselors are current Caltech undergraduate students and are supervised by professional staff. YESS students and counselors will be the only residents in this House during the program duration. No visitors will be allowed in the House without prior permission from the program director.
Three meals a day are provided throughout the program. Students will receive a debit card to use at Caltech dining facilities. The YESS Program will accommodate any special physical or dietary needs.
YESS students have access to campus facilities and resources including library and computer facilities, as well as athletic facilities. Caltech's athletic venues are located on the southwest corner of campus.
